Hello
Zosia Solonschmitt is a jazz composer, philosopher, violinist, and vocalist. She fell in love with music at the age of 3 when, upon hearing Hillary Hahn’s album of Bach violin concertos, she declared, “Mama, that’s what I’m gonna play.” She started classical training at 6 and music has been integral to her life ever since.
Her curious spirit & ears quickly beckoned her to listen to & learn music from all over the map. Zosia’s sonic influences include jazz, classical, prog rock, fiddle/bluegrass, Celtic music, Polish folk, many Brazilian and Afro-Cuban styles, along with music from many other places around the world. Zosia sees music as a powerful community weaver and healing force and hopes to figure out ways to translate the way that we listen and relate with music into better ways to live alongside each other, plants, animals, & the Earth that we all co-inhabit.
She is currently studying jazz composition at Berklee College of Music.
Her other interests include nature, photography, philosophy, sociology, linguistics, & speculative fiction.
